A Wee Change was born in 2004, and we now have nearly 1500 consignors! We have won numerous accolades, including being named a "Bay Area Best" for the last 4 years by Bay Area Parent Magazine and an "A" rating from the Better Business Bureau. We are proud of our accolades, and even more so of our customer and consignor “community.” Thanks to all for your support over the years!

Quality Gently Worn Children's Clothing
We accept only the best in children's clothing sizes 0-14. We are a “better brand” store, featuring favorites like Gap, Gymboree, Ralph Lauren, Janie & Jack, Tea Collection, Juicy Couture and more. Many of our items arrive “new with tag” and are priced at ½ or less of retail prices.

NEW! Stylish Women's Clothing & Accessories
Our recently added selection of women's clothing features casual “hip-mom” styles from stores like J.Crew, Banana Republic, Gap & Anthropologie. We often receive designer handbags such as Coach and Dooney & Burke. Our designer jean section includes brands like Seven For All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, & Hudson. We accept women's sizes 0-16 and Junior styles from 0-13.

No frumpy allowed at A Wee Change! You will find current styles from Mom's the Word, Michael Stars, A Pea in the Pod, Gap and more. Maternity clothing is amazingly expensive when purchased new; why not look like a stylish and hip mommy to-be for 1/3 to 1/2 of retail prices!

New Toys, Gifts & Girl Scouts Too!
We carry a huge array of new toys from Melissa & Doug. We feature a variety of gifts, some locally handmade. We are also Walnut Creek's only Girl Scout retailer, offering a central location for all of your Daisy, Brownie, Junior & Cadette Girl Scout needs.

Gear, Toys & Bedding
We carry all baby gear with the exception of carseats and used bath/diaper care items. Don't spend your money on new toys-check us first! Most of our toys are barely used. Every single gear and toy item is cleaned and checked for recalls; safety is our #1 priority. We offer a great mix of crib bedding by brands like Pottery Barn, Serena & Lily, and Cocalo. When space allows you may find a high end crib, bassinettes, changing tables and more.

What to Consign:
Children's clothing size 0-14 brand name Maternity clothing, as well as popular Junior Girls and Women's brands sizes 0-16. All items should be in ready-to-sell condition in current styles. Toys and gear that are less than 3 years old and are clean andhave been checked for recalls. Children's & Maternity books, DVDs, CDs in excellent condition.

How to Prepare Your Items for Consignment:
To maximize your profit and help expedite a speedy trip to the sales floor for your items, please refer to our consignment guidelines to prepare your items. Please know there will be items that meet all of our guidelines that we still cannot accept because we may have to many of that type item in stock, or know that the item is not desirable to our customers.

How to Consign
Make an appointment:
When you make an appointment, we go through your items while you wait, and return any “no-thank-yous” on the spot. ALL NEW CONSIGNORS MUST HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. Please email us for an appointment. You may bring two shopping bags for appointments.

Drop-Off for Current Consignors:
You are eligible to drop and run with us if you have previously consigned via appointment and have a current master contract on file. When you "drop and donate", you simply leave your items and we go through them at a later time and your "No Thank Yous" will be donated. If you want your unacceptable items returned to you, you must utilize our Consignment Walk in Hours listed here.  Print a Drop & Donate form

How do you keep track of my items?
We use a sophisticated computer program designed specifically for the consignment business. You receive a consignor number, and every item is entered in the computer under your account. As your items sell, your account is instantly credited. You can easily reference your account online to tell you exactly what your balance is, what has sold, and what you have left in the store.

How long is the consignment period?
60 to 90 dependent on the item & season.

What is my share?
The consignor receives 40% of the sales price, less sales tax and any fees incurred. On items priced over $100 the consignor receives a 50% share.

How do you set prices?
We use several factors including current retail prices, demand for the particular item, and the quality of the item. We do not set prices based on what the consignor paid for the item originally, although we do take that into consideration.

Do you do preset markdowns?
No. To garner the most money for our consignors, we do not mark down clothing regularly; instead, we hand pick certain items for the sale rack, when space is needed for new clothing. We also have seasonal sales to clearance out items as the next season approaches.

How do I get paid?
You may stop in at any time to claim your balance in person. You can spend the credit in the store or take a cash payment. Any balances over $25 will be issued a check. Checks can be mailed at your request less .50 for mailing.

What happens at the end of my contract?
You have a 10 day grace period to claim any unsold items. Any items remaining in the store after that become property of A Wee Change to dispose of as we see fit.

Anything else I need to know?
Any other details are listed in your consignor contract, which we give you when you consign with us.

From San Francisco / Oakland / Orinda / Lafayette:
Travel east on Highway 24. Exit Pleasant Hill Road, and take the Pleasant Hill Road North fork. Travel north on Pleasant Hill Road and climb the hill; at the top of the hill stay right and take the Geary Road fork. The shopping center will be on the right hand side at the bottom of the hill. We are approximately 2 miles from the exit of Highway 24.

From Central Walnut Creek / San Ramon / San Jose:
Travel 680 northbound toward Concord. Exit at Geary Road/Treat Road. Go left at the light and cross over the freeway. Continue straight, heading into residential. Go approximately 1.5 miles, and the shopping center will be on the left side after crossing Pleasant Hill Road.

From Concord / Martinez:
Travel 680 southbound toward Walnut Creek. Exit Geary Road/Treat Road. At the light go left onto Contra Costa Boulevard, and right onto Geary Road. Continue straight, heading into residential. Go approximately 1.5 miles, and the shopping center will be on the left side after crossing Pleasant Hill Road.

*Sandals-Swim Wear-Water Shoes: 4th of July Clothing-ALL KIDS SIZES OKAY*

*Summer Maternity* (blouses, tanks, skirts, swim, shorts, sundresses) No pants or long sleeves.

*Toddler Toys*: Little People, Fisher Price, Playskool, etc (NO GAMES OR PUZZLES RIGHT NOW)

*Children's Books and DVDs*

We are especially looking for chapter books for 1st-5th grade, toddler toys (i.e. Little People, Imaginext, Duplos, etc.) All toys/books/dvds must be clean and in working order.

The only Gear Items we have room for right now are:

Ergo & Bjorn Carriers, high chairs that strap on dining chairs.

HOW TO BRING YOUR ITEMS IN 

Wait for Sorting:  Come in Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday from 10:30-2:30 and we will go thru your items and return them to you on the spot.  Keep in mind there may be a wait if we are busy with customers or helping other consignors.

Drop & Donate:  Come in ANYTIME!  Make sure your name, number and "D&D" on the bag and leave it with us.  You will receive an email when your items are processed and any unwanted items will be donated to Bambino Thrift Shop in Oakland benefitting Children's Hospital Oakland.
